Windows Phone 7平台始終很新，功能未完整，還有很多需要微軟努力。在Mobile World Congress 2011中，微軟終於肯公佈多一點快將推出的Windows Phone 7更新的新功能，除了早前提及的複製貼上外，還會採用全新的Internet Explorer 9。估計IE 9將會支援更好的HTML5，另外亦會在People Hub加入對Twitter的支援，亦會有多工處理等。
