美國電子商貿企業亞馬遜 Amazon 業績表現良好，自今年起股價已上升近 7%，去年全年股價更升約 56%。創辦人及行政總裁， 貝索斯（Jeff Bezos）的身家更因漲至 1050 億美元（約港幣 8,213億），打破微軟創辦人蓋茨（ Bill Gates）於 1996 年，擁有 995 億美元（約港幣 7,782億）的紀錄。
貝索斯（Jeff Bezos） 的身家絕大部分來自手上持有的亞馬遜股份。受惠於良好業績，亞馬遜股價不斷上升，亞馬遜股價今年起已升約 7 %，綜合去年更錄得 56% 的升幅，為他帶來巨大財富。除亞馬遜外，貝索斯同時持有《華盛頓郵報》及太空科技公司 Blue Origin。而貝索斯早於去年7月，已在財富榜上超越蓋茨 ，成為世界首富。在 11 月時，資產更首度超過 1,000 億美元（約港幣 7,822 億）。

另一方面，微軟創辦人蓋茨早前曾將 7 億微軟股份及約 29 億美元（約港幣 227 億）轉到他與妻子名下的慈善基金會。《彭博》分析師指出，若他沒有作出上述捐獻，他的資產將達 1,500 億美元（約港幣 11,732億），遠超貝索斯目前的資產。
