Uber之前經歷過幾場風波，包括在手機App植入不同監視用戶與司機的程式碼，搞到滿城風雨。最近前CEO兼Uber聯合創始人的Travis Kalanick終於退下CEO職位，依照美國紐約時報的報道，新CEO邀請線上旅遊公司 Expedia 的 CEO Dara Khosrowshahi 過檔Uber。董事會在經過漫長的獵頭之旅之後，終於能夠敲定人選。
Uber早前曾經考慮過通用電氣(General Electric)的前CEO Jeffery Immelt上馬，而HP企業部門的Meg Whitman也是人選之一，但根據Uber兩位知情人士透露，在經過周末舉行的董事局會議之後，他們決定了最終人選。Uber將正式邀請線上旅遊服務公司Expedia的伊朗裔美國人Dara Khosrowshahi過檔擔任Uber的CEO一職，但據了解Khosrowshahi目前仍未正式接受有關邀請。目前兩間公司的發言人皆沒有對記者的提問作出回應。
消息指出邀請Dara Khosrowshahi將為Uber帶來穩定，因為前CEO Travis Kalanick已在6月20日在壓力之下辭退了有關職務，目前公司群龍無首。早前一單接一單的醜聞令Uber蒙上陰影，包括Travis Kalanick對部下的性騷擾事件，而且亦被傳在司機用的App裡面加入對別家租車公司App數據作出偵測的程式碼。面對種種事件，投資者對於Kalanick都逐漸失去信心。目前Travis Kalanick已退下CEO之位，變成只是Uber董事會成員之一。
Dara Khosrowshahi家庭在1970年年代從伊朗移居美國，他從2005年開始就一直是Expedia的行政總裁，對數碼工業富有經驗，與Uber類似，同樣是將線下的人流、物流搬到線上運作。不過Uber的市值達到700億美元，是Expedia 230億的數倍。
