今年 3 月 Microsoft 推出了 Developer App Converter，讓軟件開發者將 Win32 和 .Net 的軟件轉換成 Windows 10 可用的軟件。日前 Microsoft 亦推出 Project Centennial 項目，將一系列 Windows 用戶見慣見熟的經典軟件帶到 Windows Store。
首批登陸 Windows Store 的軟件有 4 款，分別為 WordPad、Windows Fax and Scan、XPS Viewer 和 Microsoft Character，部份早在 Windows 3.1 年代就已經出現於 Windows 系統內。不過這些經典軟件暫時只在 Windows Insiders 版的 Windows 10 和最新版的 Windows Store 提供。
經過 Desktop App Converter 轉換的軟件，功能上和原裝版本沒有兩樣。相信有更多經典軟件會陸續在 Windows Store 重新登場，不過一般 Windows 10 用戶可能要等到 7 月 Anniversary Update 更新後才能夠下載。
