Sharp 今年財政持續惡化，更於月前裁員近 3,000 人。雖然公司面臨重大危機，但仍保留著不少優異技術。其中 LCD 面板就得到 Apple 支持，最新的 IGZO 技術面板更是未來 LCD 新趨勢。日前 Sharp 就宣布供應 IGZO 面板給 ASUS、Fujitsu 及 Sony 使用，有望可舒緩目前的財政壓力。
Sharp 的 LCD 面板向來甚少給予對手使用，今次將其最新的 IGZO 面板技術供應給 3 大廠商，可令未來顯示屏幕更具競爭力，尤其是與韓國廠商的競爭。IGZO 技術同樣是基於 LCD 面板設計，但具有更省電、輕薄、高解像度、更快速的反應時間等優點，而成本也比起目前的 LCD 面板更低，也更適合應用到手機及平板裝置上。
不過 IGZO 面板技術本身不是由 Sharp 所擁有，只是發展上較其他廠商領先。擁有 IGZO 專利的 JST 於去年與 Samsung 已簽定了授權協議，未來也將會有更多台灣廠商可生產。不過目前只有 Sharp 能夠供應 IGZO 面板，領先對手 1 至 2 年時間，希望在此段期間可為 Sharp 起死回生吧！
