Paul Wallich 平時陪兒子一起走下山到巴士站，就於去年冬天，他忽發奇想，想要一架裝了攝錄機的無人駕駛直昇機跟著兒子，他就只需坐在電腦前。於是他決定親自製一個。他分開買了全部的組件，包括主控板 ArduPilot Mega、GPS、指南針及 microSD 卡的插槽，裝好後，這架無人駕駛的四漿直昇機就可以飛啦！他把一個 GPS 信標放進兒子的袋，無人駕駛直昇機會跟著他。
結果這架直昇機都算成功，透過開放源碼的軟件啟動無人駕駛直昇機，它能在離信標一段預先設定的距離內飛行，同時它可透過安排 GPS 導航點自動於一定的海拔高度飛行。正常情況下都可追蹤 Wallich 的兒子至巴士站或從巴士站折返。不過仍有一些問題如電池壽命、視野等，所以這架飛行器未能正式投入任務，父母們都未能偷懶。其實接送子女都是一件頗為溫馨的事，如果可以的話自己做也不錯，而且會更為放心。
