採用 Google Chrome OS 的 Chromebook 提及多年，以平價作為號召力，就如當年 Netbook 一樣。雖然仍未見到有很多廠商支持，但 Google 打算在明年推出自家品牌的 Chromebook，並會加入觸控屏幕功能。
隨著 Windows 8 的推出，不少廠商也為 Notebook 加入觸控屏幕功能作配合，Chromebook 的 Chrome OS 也與 Android 同出一轍，但現時並未有觸控屏幕設計。有報道指 Google 已與 OEM 廠商合作推出 12.85 吋的 Chromebook，並預計於明年第一季推出，就如 Nexus 系列一樣冠上自家品牌。不過據供應的廠商透露，目前 Google 的訂單量不大，暫定 1 年只有 20 萬部，暫時只會是試驗性質供內部測試，但未來會否走向大眾則不得而知了。
