當每個人都在說iPhone 4S是iPhone for Steve，是他的遺作時，其實都不完全正確。這是他生前Apple推出的最後一部iPhone沒錯，但就不是他的遺作，因為他有份主導開發的，還有下一代的iPhone（姑且叫它作iPhone 5）。
據了解，這iPhone 5，也跟之前的iPhone一樣，由Steve Jobs親自監督從概念到實際設計的每一個部分（可能比起iPhone 4S投放的心力還多），當然對品質也是一貫的嚴格，現在雖然未推出，但大概在設計上已有定案，再來的就是技術上的調節和生產。即使Steve Jobs已不在，但iPhone 5相信依然會保持Steve Jobs的風格，可能是Steve Jobs真正的遺作。
