Steve Jobs離開的消息令很多傳媒報導，Google也在主頁作悼念，設置一條連到蘋果公司網站的連結。同時，有保安軟件公司開始調查有沒有不法份子，在這個時候借機發放惡意軟件、詐騙等，原因是當有重大新聞時 (例如三月時的日本地震)，詐騙網站連結可能會出現於搜索引擎。
在十月六日，嘗試在Google搜尋「Steve Jobs funeral」，結果如下：
芬蘭保安軟件公司F-Secure發現，有一個名為stevejobsfunderal.com的網站，聲稱瀏覽者可以參予一個抽獎活動並有機會嬴取一台MacBook Pro，網站藉此去收集電郵地址。這個網站更連結到一個售賣Apple產品的線上商店，如果瀏覽者真的按下連結和購買產品，這個網站可賺取收益。這個網站其實在九月二十日已經註冊好，並正一直等待時機。
Google 搜尋在過濾惡意網站做得很好，只是最近又發現有一些濫發及詐騙廣告在活動。
F-Secure大中華區總監李力恆表示：「所以大家在搜尋新聞的同時要小心，並要到可靠的新聞網站。在提交個人資料前，必須確保網站的可信性，避免不法份子將您的個人資料作不當用途。」

Bravo Yadav! This blog is off the hook. Reading Comprehension makes all the difference in GRE for most of the test-takers. Tackling RC is something that comes from school. Quick question for you Yadav, from your experience, do you think Princeton review or Kaplans course (private tutoring) will help? As you said before, reading the first and the last two lines of Yet, I still suffer in RC. I got a 1340 on GRE. 800 in math, but only 540 in Verbal. Panic and stress kill me during the exam on RC. I knew I screwed up RC big time after the test. RC is the only obstacle for me in GRE, stopping me from getting a 1400+ score. Any advice on RC Yadav will help me a great deal!!
