宗教領袖往往年紀很大，通常給人一種對科技絕緣的感覺。不過，看來達賴喇嘛就不是科技盲，因為最近，他就跟南非的前任聖公會大主教Desmond Tutu，透過Google+的Hangout進行視像通話，作為和平講座的一部分。
達賴喇嘛之所以會使用Google+，是因為前陣子當Desmond Tutu 80大壽時，達賴喇嘛想要到南非探望他，但南非政府不肯給達賴喇嘛簽證，唯有透過Google+去祝賀他。Google+現在雖然好像有人氣下滑的跡象，但仍然有不少的名人活躍於這個社交平台之上呢。
