在 WWDC 舉行前夕，iTunes 於更新程式頁面中，已被外國媒體發現有異樣，懷疑是 iOS 5 新增功能。於更新頁中多了一句「Or if your device has Automatic Download enabled for apps, your updates will download to your device without having to sync.」意指如果程式支援自動下載功能的話，用戶就不用跟 iTunes 同步亦可自動更新程式。當然，消息出現後該句已被刪去了，詳情還是有待教主 Steve Jobs 公布。
