萬眾矚目的Google I/O大會昨晚正式開幕，最多人關注的當然是未來Google在Android系統上的發展。今年Google 在大會上表示 ，Android下一個版本Ice Cream Sandwich（雪糕三文治），將會把手機及平板系統（現在的Gingerbread 及 Honeycomb）重新合併下來。在未來的Ice Cream Sandwich系統中，開發人員將可把同一個系統應用到不同螢幕大少的手機或平板電腦上。
其中一名Android工程師Mike Claren稱：“我們希望一個系統能夠無處不在。” 這個雪糕三文治系統包括了全新的用戶界面，多工任務用戶界面等，一切都會在Gingerbread 及 Honeycomb兩者之間取得平衡，Google更稱Ice Cream Sandwich擁有“State of the Art UI”的用戶界面，意味Ice Cream Sandwich的界面將會非常華麗。
Android的下一個版本也將會加入一個全新的boatload API和新的開發工具給開發人員使用。 在Google I /O大會的演講中，Google更展示了一些新的功能，如新的OpenGL引擎及臉部追踪等新功能，相信到了今年年底我們就能夠得到更多關於Ice Cream Sandwich 的細節。
