隨著Intel在IDF上宣傳推出全新Core i7 流動處理器，多家廠商已先後公佈配備新處理器的產品。反觀，已經公佈了一段時間的AMD Tigris流動平台終於有完成品推出。Acer將為其推出Aspire 7540 及Aspire 5542，屏幕尺寸分別是17吋及15吋，解像度達1366 X 768及1600 X 900。
兩款新機將會配備代號為「 Capspian 」的 45nm AMD Turion II 處理器，配合全新RS880M 晶片組，內置AMD Mobility Radeon繪圖核心能支援 Direct X 10.1 及 Shader Model 4.1、支援 Unified Video Decoder 2，提供完整的高清硬體解碼功能。兩款新機將於10月22日與Windows 7作業系統同時上市，售價待定。
