距離Windows 7推出還有一段長時間,電腦廠商由於不希望影響客戶延遲買機,一如以往的Windows Vista，將會承諾未來為用戶提供Windows 7系統升級服務。日本Fujitsu 富士通宣佈,將會在10月22日Windows 7作業系統正式上市之前購買新機的用戶提供作業系統更新服務,計劃更多細節將於6月底前公佈。不過升級並非免費午餐，用戶將要支付$9 至$15美元之間的費用，作為廠商向微軟購買升級系統的成本轉移。此外，其他筆電廠商包括acer,ASUS,GIGABYTE,HP,MSI等等,亦已表示將會採取類似升級計劃，因此筆電用戶無需擔心升級問題。
